Christmas Holiday was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Part of it was spent at a wedding dinner, where I got to dress up properly after a freakin' lonnnnggg time (Yay!). Well, I didn't have time to get my hair done as I just got back from KL and was told to attend a wedding dinner spontaneously. There was no time to buy a pair of proper heels so I just matched it with my blue heels I bought a long time ago. Luckily the dress was long enough to cover it hahaha.

If there's an advice that I'd share with you, it will go something like this:

The world is full of drama and realists, and people will continue to be superficial to each other. Most people are busy-bodies and want something they can get a hold on others. They just want to know, and don't care about how you truly feel. People would want to know WHY you are sad, WHAT's the feud and PRETEND to sympathize. Then, they would spread the stories around. That's how the world is. Well, GENERALLY. And that is SAD.

Don't be heartbroken though. Most people can be mean, but there are some who REALLY and TRULY are angels who'll keep you going. I know mine, and I am grateful they have kept me strong. The good are always around. You don't have to search for them, they will come to you.

Just remember, you can live in this world, and be a part of it, without being superficial. The haters can go ahead and comment that you can't live and only be a nobody without being superficial, but they are WRONG about this.

Be SINCERE, that's what I emphasize on and always tell others. People will see it one day, trust me. No one is a nobody, everyone is a somebody to the people who matters. (:

Yes, they can doubt your sincerity, but let's not let them ruin it alright? Because being sincere is a powerful trait, and nobody can take that away from you.

Lavenders - my fave!

So that pretty much sum up my trip to Nottingham. Bought myself some new outfit from Primark and they were definitely worth it. (((: Summer sales was awesome. I would love to be back there someday, to explore the city thoroughly. I did walked a lot, snapped lotsa pictures and had a wonderful time with my family. I wished the time would stop there, but it didn't. That's reality.

I always dreamt of getting a tutu skirt, and this Miss Selfridge skirt says it all. I first saw it when I was holidaying in London. The soothing sea blue colour with a tinge of purple and its subtle floral pattern caught my eyes. I tried it on and voila, the next thing I knew was it belonged to me. :D I was really happy because it was a good buy! Thanks to end of summer sales.

The crop top is unique. I love how it shows its transparency yet doesn't show too much of your skin. I wore a black singlet inside to allow the transparent stripes show itself, yet featuring the tutu-like skirt as the main character today.  

The tutu-like skirt makes me feel like a ballerina. Just for today, I am dancing freely on my feet.

Summer Holiday Part 1: Trip to Kuala Lumpur

I am thrilled to be able to update this blog again. I've been away for TOO LONG. Basically, I had my Year 4 Finals, and then summer holiday for a month, then CPR exam, and finally, the mediocre internet connection is back, so here I am.

First thing to start with, I am in the fifth year of my university life, which basically means I am in my FINAL year. I am excited, yet a little anxious about what the future holds. 

The next few posts will tell you ALL about my trip during my summer holiday.

First, I did an attachment in the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur for about 2 weeks. After that, the 'fun' part arrives. I stayed over at my family friend's house for 3 days. I really enjoyed myself and we did all the girly stuff we can do, like shopping, the heart to heart talk etc. Thanks to her and her family for making me feel like home when I was away from home for so long. I wish her all the best in her future endeavour. (:

I didn't take many pictures when I was holidaying in KL, but here are the few pics that remind me of those days.

Came across this Armani Exchange dress during a shopping spree during Hari Raya, where awesome sales were ongoing. Love the silky feeling of the dress, the silver colour and how it looks so Greek-like. I couldn't resist myself but to give it a try.  I feel like owning it. -Impulse- The dress is way beyond my budget, so in the end, I had to give up the thought of getting it. Seriously, I love how it made you feel - like a Greek Goddess.

Shopping!!! I got myself a dinner bag, exactly like the one on the right. I was in a dilemma because the one on the left look equally pretty and glittery. And the bags were on discount! I should have
bought both of them. :P

The curve during Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I love it when SALES are ongoing. LOVE LOVE LOVE! The stalls set up were nice and colourful. I bought an ancient like elephant necklace and two rings from one of the stalls.

This was taken two months ago when I was out with my friends after exams. Yeah, life has been flooded with too many exams lately, and one just has to go through it. I have not been blogging lately due to my packed schedule, and my finals is in two weeks time, which means this is gonna be my last post till finals end. 

So there I was, wearing a red maxi dress with my favourite gladiator sandals. I really wished I was somewhere near the sea, enjoying the sea breeze, and the sun rays, and the scent of sea. Well, I'm gonna finish my Year 4 soon, and life is gonna get better after this. (:

Summer Flow

So I picked up another Elle sweater-like top to pair with the skirt. It's slightly longer at the back and has an asymmetrical element to it that captured my heart. To top it up, I love how the thick prussian blue thread is intrinsically woven with the delicate golden filament, providing the top a slight glittery look. It's supposed to be a 'S' size top, but it still feels kinda big on me. And, I like pairing this shirt with the skirt! (:

I was just trying something different and outrageous today by pairing my checkered shirt with a flowered skirt, though I know it would look nicer if the skirt was matched with a plain shirt. It looked weird on the first glance, but after a while, I guess I got used to it. I paired the look with a pair of vintage brown flats and tied a ribbon knot on the shirt at the waist level so it wouldn't look too loose with the skirt. One thing I like most about the skirt is that it's semi-transparent and flowy, and hence easier to match with anything.

CHANEL perfume

I've always dream of owning a brand like Chanel, Dior, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood etc in my closet, but the price is pretty overwhelming for a girl like me. Honestly, it's just a desire to be part of the brand, instead of really owning it. There are fashion bloggers/ fashionistas/celebrities out there who are willing to spend thousands on such brands on certain occasions. Well, I supposed it depends on how one perceives it and one's priority.

I admit to dreaming of owning such brands. They are timeless piece that portray sophistication, classicism, elegance and can be wore effortlessly. However, not everyone can afford these high-end brands. I've realised that fashion is not about buying expensive high-end brands, it's merely how one express his/her own style. For those who are able to showcase their styles with affordable pieces they find from night market/affordable boutique, they always somehow managed to impress me with their creative styles. As for me, I always emphasize on the design and quality of the clothes that suit my style. Of course, I only purchase affordable pieces which I deem necessary.

Guess what, the picture above is an original Chanel perfume of more than 20 years. It belonged to my mum, who received it as a wedding gift. Lucky much! (:

Red Peplum

When I saw this red peplum during a Christmas shopping spree, I instantly fell in love with it. It has a few variety of colours like vermillion, white, navy blue and black, all of which I love, but the RED one caught my attention. It looked so lovely and classy, and so, it became an addition to my wardrobe. I love the texture of the peplum material, and the embedded flora like design to it that made it look kinda vintage and unique. Just wearing this top would cheer a person up.

Not to be forgotten;

The seemingly insignificant yet important reminders in life:

Mind over matter.
Don't judge.
Be sincere to people and in the things you do.
Smile.
Be yourself.
How others react is not up to you to decide; you don't react, you respond.

The essence of living is simple. Be yourself. Be sincere. Mind over matter.

Balance.

Sometimes we may be overloaded with activities and programmes and think that we are actually living as we enjoy those activities. No doubt it is true, we make new friends and gain lotsa experience from the activities. Often, we got so caught up with stuff that we forget how to strike a balance in life. Balance is the word. We get tired if we overexert ourselves. Our immune system starts failing and we get sick. 

So today, take a break. Balance yourself while enjoying the journey of life.

I'm finally back from my Chinese New Year break. My theory papers ended a week back but there's another practical exam coming up. Well, it's one after another, and this will continue till who-knows-when since education is a never-ending process.

I didn't wear this outfit during CNY but I love the ribbon SO MUCH so here it is! (:

Blue Maxi Skirt

My mum bought this maxi skirt from China for me. I like the skirt except for the belt (not really of my liking) that came with it and finally wore it to lecture one day. The belt turned out to match the skirt well. It has lace that decorates its side and an ornament attached to it. It doesn't have any buckle, but two long ends which can be tied up as a ribbon. Since formal wear is the dress code for my course, I paired the skirt with a ruffled top I picked from Nicole. I like it checkered with a subtle mix of pink and orange. I've been wearing it a lot. (:

PS: I could try pairing the skirt with a simple singlet the next round. 

A Casual Love

It's been quite a while since my last post as I'm still busy with my ongoing exams till the first week of February. Well, this post is basically how I would dress up when I was a little younger. I seldom shop so I usually pair up any pants (jeans, most of the time) and shirt I can find in my closet. Now that I have more clothes, I get to actually realise my childhood dream of dressing up as a princess LOL. :P Well, it's just feels good whenever I dress up! It gives me a sense of self-confidence and portrays my mood on the day. Tune in for more looks soon. ((:

Happy 2013

Wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! My bad the post came pretty late, but I wish you all a great year ahead. Life is pretty hectic lately, since I'll be having exams this month.

Anyway, I got myself a Nine West bag just before the New Year started. It became one of my favourite bags thus far. (: Love the design and lining, and it's pretty durable too!
